The Dem Kafası team focused on the preschool period during the support program. They made an application to design accessible visual and sign language content for the language acquisition processes of deaf and hearing-impaired children.
Define, Ideate
The team conducted field interviews in order to design content that will facilitate language acquisition. As a result of these interviews, the team reached a common insight on mothers: Hearing mothers of hearing-impaired children feel stuck between the doctor, audiologist and rehabilitation trio. They feel lonely and pay significant attention to experiences of other mothers with hearing-impaired children.
Prototype, Test, Develop
The Dem Kafası team is working on a digital platform that will help with the language acquisition processes of hearing-impaired children between the ages 0-6 through the speak-show-sign method and where mothers will be able to share their own experiences. The product is in the process of content production and interface development.
