Problem Verification

The monolab team, before applying to the Incubation Process with Island Girls project, performed intense researches and decided the main frames of their project. In the first work they participated, they clarified the problems on canvas for which they have developed certain solutions. The problems are also grouped in the same work. The road map for the solutions is formed and the questions to be asked during the interviews are concreted.

Solution Verification

The monolab team, while developing their projects, had formed a list of problems as a result of the conducted desk studies. The team, following the Problem Verification, made interviews with 3 groups to observe these problems in the field and make analyses thereof. To understand how the gender roles and professions are perceived by the girls, 42 individuals are interviewed face to face and through surveys including the predetermined questions. To understand the stories and make problem analysis, the team also made discussions with the girl students who have participated different programming training and engineer women as well as teachers, parents and speciasists performing studies about women issues. During the 2nd stage works, the field research and specialist opinions, together with the mentor ideas from the Project Market, helped them to understand the methods for promoting girls to tecnology and engineering professions as well as illuminating the concerns about the focusing on target population, shaping the business and revenue models and developing the communication method. The team, in addition, also determined a concept and motivation story for the business model.
