In the second Incubation Process, imece is focusing on Empowering Women and Girls from a Gender Equality Lens in line with the United Nations’ 5th Global Goal, Gender Equality. This goal targets ending all types of discrimination against women and girls everywhere. Gender equality is among the most fundamental social challenges facing Turkey. Challenge Research conducted by S360 revealed several challenges in gender equality issue area. Fundamental gender equality challenges in Turkey include women’s unequal participation in economic life, unequal access to education, the gender inequality in the content of education, inequality in access to health and well-being among others.
Based on these social challenges, we have created questions to help social entrepreneurs design innovative solutions: “How might we design models and tools in order to ensure participation of women in economic life and equal presence in all areas of economic life?”; “How might we increase women and girls’ access to education?”; How might we redesign models and content of education that will contribute to gender equality?; How might we develop tools, models and methods which will ensure that women are physically, socially and mentally healthy?”
