How might we design models and tools in order to ensure participation of women in economic life and equal presence in all areas of economic life?

What are the application requirements?


Women’s participation in economic life is among the most pressing issues we came across during our challenge research. Global indexes and national reports show that the rate of women’s participation in the workforce is very low in Turkey and that there are visible and invisible barriers preventing women from fully participating.


Data in this field reveals three fundamental stages: Joining the job market, staying in the job and getting promotions. Although women in different sectors and positions experience these three stages differently, there are common issues facing women: unpaid labor, lack of preschool education and care services, gender pay gap, glass ceiling, lack of women role models, and lack of motivation and self-confidence due to sexist attitudes and behavior towards women.
